- Hotels can charge anything from £400 upwards for your DJ
- The DJ may only receive as little as £80 to £100
- The DJ may be the hotels bar man, or a DJ provided by a contractor
- As such, to the DJ your entertainment is a regular event, with probably little consideration for uniqueness or details
- If your hotel insists that you use their DJ, you can decline, advising that you will take your business elsewhere
- It is extremely unlikely that the hotel will insist if you take this stance

Only then can you be assured that you will have control over your entertainment, with your choice of music, and it should cost less than it would if you had used the Hotels DJ.
